Where are the great guitar tones today?

It kills me! Most of the new bands today all sound the same! Where are the great guitar tones? The guitar players I grew up listening too had such personality in their playing and in their tone. You could instantly tell Hendrix from Clapton, Page from Beck, Duane or Dickey from Paul Kossoff. So are we doomed? Are there any new bands out there today with great sounding guitars? Players with style and originality? Please say there are!
